What Gig can and cannot do today
This page is deliberately specific about the limits, because the gap between what an assistant seems able to do and what it actually does is where the time goes.
What it does
- Thinks through a problem with you and turns it into a plan with concrete next steps.
- Drafts the actual artefact — the email, the outline, the description, the message — not a description of the artefact.
- Works through a long piece of work across a conversation rather than one answer at a time.
- Explains its reasoning when you ask, so you can disagree with it.
What it does not do yet
Gig plans and drafts; it does not take actions on your behalf. It does not send your email, browse the web, open your files, or reach any other service you use. When it produces something, you are the one who acts on it.
It also does not know anything about your business that you have not told it, and it cannot see any of your other tools.
Gig does not carry anything between conversations. It follows the thread within one conversation, but a new conversation starts cold. If you want something remembered, put it in the standing instructions of an agent of your own.
Where it is weakest
- Anything depending on today's facts — prices, news, who currently holds a role. It has no access to live information.
- Precise arithmetic on figures that matter. Check the numbers.
- Confident-sounding detail about a niche it has little grounding in. Ask it what it is unsure about.
If an answer matters, ask Gig how it got there. A wrong answer usually has a visible wrong assumption in it.
