Lesson 1 — Say what done looks like

Lesson 1 of 4

Learn

An agent is not a mind reader. It is a very fast worker who does exactly what the instruction says — and when the instruction says little, it fills the gaps with guesses.

The fix is one habit: before you send a request, say what *done* looks like. Five things cover almost every task: the outcome you want, who it is for, the format it should arrive in, roughly how long it should be, and the facts it must use.

"Write something about my bakery" leaves four of the five open. "Write a 4-line WhatsApp message to regular customers announcing Saturday's new opening hours — warm, plain words, hours are 8 to 14" leaves none.

You do not need to be technical. You need to be specific. Specific is a skill, and it takes about a minute to apply.

Build

Open one of your agents. Look at its instructions field. Does it say who the agent works for, what tone to use, and what a finished piece of work looks like? If not, it is guessing on every task.

⚡ Do

Take a task you gave your agent recently — or give it a new one. Write the request twice: once in one vague line, once with the five things above. Run both. Compare the drafts side by side. Keep the one-minute habit.
